GREEN FIRE PRESENTATION has been rescheduled for Saturday, February 9.

Through a grant from Humanities Iowa, the Wapello County Conservation Board will be bringing Thomas Dean to Pioneer Ridge Nature Center to present “Green Fire: Aldo Leopold and a Land Ethic for our Time.” This event is free to all.

Thomas Dean is a Senior Presidential Writer/Editor at the University of Iowa among other duties. He is trained as a Land Ethic Leader through the Aldo Leopold Foundation. The Leopold Foundation has a goal to both introduce Leopold’s land ethic to a wider audience and deepen understanding and engagement through dialogue about the meaning and value of conservation.

This presentation will include a screening of the film “Green Fire,” and a discussion about our own relationship with the land community.

Registration is requested by February 6. Again this is a free event, and better suited for older children and adults.

Give us a call if you would like to register or have questions – 641-682-3091. More details will be added as the presentation date nears, but mark your calendar now!
