Winter is one of my favorite times to hike at Garrison Rock Wildlife Area. The rocky features of the area really stick out in the snow, and if the weather has been right, there can be an ice fall at horse thief cave.
2018 is nearing the end and this year we will be offering a last day hike at Garrison Rock. What better way is there to end the year than being surrounded by the beauty nature provides? So bring your family and friends out to Garrison Rock on December 31 to explore one of the most beautiful areas in our county. We will meet at the parking lot off Cliffland Road at 9:00 in the morning.
The terrain of this area is rugged, and the trail conditions could be quite difficult depending on the weather. We will hike at an easy pace as we search for the best view of the river where we are likely to see eagles. Our journey from there will depend on our group and trail conditions.
Dress for the weather and trail conditions, and join us for our last day hike. Bring your binoculars and camera if you would like. There is no Registration or Cost for this event!
