bats at halloween

UPDATE: In collaboration with the Wapello County EMA, department of public health, the county supervisors, county attorney and Governor Reynolds, facilities at our county parks will remain closed until at least May 27.  As we are unable to fulfill the standards outlined of being able to provide a park ranger to enforce guidelines are being followed, etc., we are unable to open at this time.

Here is a list of the facilities currently closed to the public at this time:

  • Nature Center
  • Cabins
  • Campground
  • Shelters (Haybarn and Pond Side)
  • Restroom and shower facilities

Here are the things open to the public:

  • Trails for hiking only at this time
  • Ponds for fishing
  • Hunting areas are still available for hunting

Those visiting our parks are asked to abide by the standards on social distancing and group gatherings set forth by the CDC.

Thank you for your understanding during this time. Get out to one of our natural areas and witness the natural renewal of spring in action.
